Understanding Steam Too Weak
Steam is produced when the boiler heats water above 100°C. Scale reduces the boiler's heat transfer and narrows the steam path, producing weak, wet steam. A partially blocked wand tip does the same. Weak steam makes milk frothing slow and poor.
Universal Troubleshooting Steps
These steps work across all major brands:
- Fill the water tank and purge the steam wand for 10 seconds.
- Descale the boiler with an approved descalant.
- Clean the wand tip and its air hole with the cleaning pin.
- If steam is still weak, check the steam thermostat and pressure settings in the manual.
